I don't want to waste another lifetime I don't want to spend another daylight shooting high Running through the streets with my hands on fire Wrapping my brain in telephone wire Give me easy money Make me dirty love Tie my hands to the wheel But get me to the devil on time I've got a six gun holly roller in my head Singing my dreams cause all my prayers are dead Give me easy money Make me dirty love Tie my hands to the wheel But get me to the devil on time And I won't break down I won't breakdown And I won't break down I won't breakdown Get me to the Devil on time Tearing up the sunshine running through the mud Rain keeps falling but these tears are not enough Windscreens howling with the coming of the sun I’m going to keep pushing through mountains and the floods Give me easy money Make me dirty love Tie my hands to the wheel But get me to the devil on time Get me to the devil Get me to the Devil Get me to the Devil Get me to the Devil on time

Once I was a gambler a rolling stone Once I was a gypsy I took the hardest road Once I was a minstrel and for my supper I would sing From the Hopetoun to Paris we gave it everything, alright Shine a Light Shine a little light Shine a light on me tonight Shine a Light Shine a little light Shine a light on me tonight I’ve been covered in roses grazed by thorns Thrown caution to the winds Prayed to the dawn Found love in hard places and I carried my ring Through the torment the shadows and every thing, alright Shine a Light Shine a little light Shine a light on me tonight Shine a Light Shine a little light Shine a light on me tonight And tell everybody that I’m doing well I’m at the gates of heaven and I’m walking on the road to hell So you can kiss me softly and show me a sign cause I’m on the dark side tonight Shine a Light Shine a little light Shine a light on me tonight Shine a Light Shine a little light Shine a light on me tonight Shine a Light Shine a little light Shine a light on me tonight Shine a Light Shine a little light Shine a light on me tonight

I Was A King 04:35
I was a King Searching for a river to hold me I was a highway looking for a mountain to climb I was a saint I was a lover I held the light and then it slipped away I was a King I was a King I was a sailor Floating on an ocean of gold I was a dancer praying to my soul on the road I was a saint I was a lover I held the light and then it slipped away I was a King I was a King I was a King I was a King I was a child living every day by the sun I was a winner everybody says it was so I was a saint I was a lover I held the light and then it slipped away I was a King, I was a King , I Was a King, I Was a King

about

Big guitars, singalong chorus’s, epic brass and a restless lyricism about change, life and beyond.

The Road is a triumphant return to the musical arena for Glad & Dave ( previously Red Ochre) who have survived all that a life time of dedication to music will throw at you and have come out the other end with a bunch of tunes that celebrates the future.

Coming on like The Rolling Stones covering Prehistoric Sounds era The Saints or Neil Young with a brass section for the rocky tracks. The album also has delicious moody moments which " channel Springsteen at his melancholy best " according to Midnight Oil's Rob Hirst.

Most of all The Road is a celebration of the bumps and turns that life can throw at you, from two people who have taken that ride.

It's exhilarating, moving and joyous. Enjoy.
